Two thousand years ago, a young carpenter, Jesus of Nazareth, began preaching a radical message that there was a heavenly kingdom within the grasp of every person who would repent of their sins and follow him. Many considered him a healer and a brilliant rabbi, and followed him. Others considered him dangerous and a blasphemer, and crucified him. Eleven of his followers believed him to be the Son of God and testified that he rose from the dead. Poor, simple, and generally uneducated, these eleven would change the world forever.
